Lazy Sunday Afternoon…

Monday, November 28th, 2011

So Sunday I shot a music video for my friend Dave’s new band, DAVDS. It was a black metal themed vid, so I got to indulge in all my evil face painting fantasies.

A little lazy Sunday corpse paint

It took me forever to scrub all the fake blood and makeup out of my hair. My neck and legs are so stiff I can barely move them and I have no skin left on my knuckles. I’ve never felt more metal :)

Nothing says black metal like Addidas jogging pants

I imagine it’ll take a few weeks to edit all the footage we shot but I’ll post it once it’s finished. It’s a combination of authentic black metal antics mixed with a dose of comedy. You’ll enjoy it.

Alright, now it’s time for me to get back to finishing The Ballads of Reemus.

Well it was supposed to be a Vlog…

but my son lost my camera somewhere in the house. So here’s the readers digest version.

THE VISITOR RETURNS!
We have just received a release date from Arcadebomb.com of Wednesday, December 7th. So the Visitor will land just in time for Halloween Christmas, like we planned :)

BALLADS FOR REEMUS!
I finished the last of my Liam lines last night, so I’m officially done. I hesitate to say completely done since there’s always some little thing lingering in the background, but I’m done all the major work for the game. Steve has a few little bits on his list and then he’s done. So we’re extremely close to launching this sucka. Which is as terrifying as it is exciting. Ok let’s all say it together now “We’re almost there”.

REEMUS  MERCHANDISE!
I’ve been working on ideas for a Reemus and Liam shirt, I think we finally have one we like. So I’ll probably post it soon to get your feedback on it. We’re also toying around with some other ideas, we’ll keep you posted!

MOVEMBER!
My moustache odyssey is almost over. Check out my MO PAGE to see the latest update. Only a few days left to donate to my killer ’stache.

DAVDS
My friend Dave, who also plays the angry bee in the Ballads of Reemus is releasing a new album. The music video shoots this weekend and I’m in it. I get to dress up for it, can’t wait to show you :)

So if this blog had a theme it’s here’s a bunch of exciting things you don’t get to play, watch or interact with anytime soon. Have a great weekend!

Voice Recording Continues

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

I’m taking a moment to come up for air. I’ve been lost in the world of voice overs for days now.

There’s 36 speaking roles in this game. At this point 23 are completely finished. I’m hoping by next week the others will arrive.

As for me, I’m halfway done my Liam lines. The final count is 539 lines. 4490 words. crazy!

I have to say I’m really happy with the caliber of voice work in this game. The actors have really risen to the occasion and brought lots of life to the characters. Once the voices are implemented it should add an extra layer of shine to the game.

On that note, it’s time for my weekly quote “We’re almost there!”. Have a good weekend.

PS. It’s snowing today, winter has begun. Blarg!

ClickShake Production Diary – Ep.24

We’re inching closer to the finish line! Here’s the latest update…

To The Moon

Sunday, November 6th, 2011

So I just played a “game” called “To The Moon”. I use the word “game” loosely since there’s almost no real game to it. It’s a point and click adventure where you walk around and click a few things. The puzzles are really just a way to control the story pacing and they won’t take you more than a few seconds to solve.

So what did I think of this interactive fiction masquerading as a point and click adventure? I actually really dug it. The premise takes a page from the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” as you play two doctors travelling through the memories of an old man to fulfill his dying wish to go to the moon. That alone is pretty cool but it barely scratches the surface of what is going on in this story. It would be a huge disservice to tell you anymore, so I suggest just going and playing it. Keep some tissues handy.
