Google +

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Steve and I did our first Google+ “hangout” today. What a great little piece of technology.

As we were sharing screens and talking we got to thinking, wouldn’t it be cool to do a big hangout with all of you guys. We can answer questions and show artwork in real time. I could even share my screen and do live flash demonstrations.

So if you’re interested sign up for a Google+ account and we can figure out a date and time to do one!

Time to blog

Monday, February 20th, 2012

Well tomorrow marks the dawning of a new era for me, my son officially starts daycare! For the first time in two years I’ll have the house all to myself, no crying, no cleaning up potty training accidents, no battles over nap time. A full work day in complete silence!

It feels like Christmas, a summer vacation and my birthday all rolled into one. Don’t get me wrong, I love my son and enjoy my time with him. But trying to work from home with a two year old is like trying to jog in quicksand.

In addition to the increase in productivity, I’ll also have some quiet time to record video blogs during the day. Steve and I already have a new project up and running. I look forward to telling you about it!

Stickers!

Just in case you were on the fence about the collector’s edition of “The Ballads of Reemus”, take a look at these fancy stickers. Aren’t you just dying to stick them on your bed post so Reemus can watch over and protect you while you sleep? Check out the video to see them in all their glossy glory…

The Next Project…

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

The last week was a whirlwind of marketing materials as we submitted Ballads to various review sites and online stores. So it was a real treat today as I sat down to work on our next project. I haven’t had a serious writing day in years, so I really savored putting fingers to the keyboard to type something that wasn’t an email reply.

I’m happy to say I think I have the broad story strokes all figured out and I’ll be sketching character and background designs the rest of the week.

There’s nothing to show yet but I can tell you this is the first true collaboration by Steve and I. Usually I already have a story and Steve helps me figure out the design, but this time around Steve had a story world he wanted to explore so I jumped in and helped craft some tales with him.

We should have something to show you soon!

In Ballads news, response has been really great. Everyone seems to be really enjoying it, which is such a relief! So keep spreading the word and maybe we’ll get the attention of more review sites! As always thanks for the support, I’ll be doing a video blog real soon!
