Chp.4 programming well underway

All the art and animation for Reemus Chp.4 is now finished and 3 puzzles are already fully programmed! Steve is hard at work polishing off the rest of the game while I dive into the mountain of art required for The Ballads of Reemus.

Exciting times! I’ll keep you posted on the progress of both games as they unfold.

Reemus chp.4 Update!

Sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve chained myself to my tablet and have been animating non stop all week.

So where are we at?

I’m happy to say I’m almost done. The game consists of 7 major puzzles and three endings. So far I’ve completed 5 of the 7 puzzles and at my current rate I should be done everything by next week. Then it gets handed off to Steve who sprinkles his magic programming dust on it and brings it to life.

In  other news we’ve launched a ClickShake Rewards system over at clickshakegames.com. Rewards are like achievements you get by accomplishing in-game goals, except that earned Rewards can then be used in other ClickShake games in inter-game quests. Right now we only have rewards for “The Visitor” but we will slowly be unveiling new rewards for other games and inter-game quests in the coming weeks. Check the site for updates!

Well back to the grind!

Reemus Chapter 4 Update

Well I’m happy to say all 17 backgrounds are now painted and all the secondary characters are drawn and animated. All that’s left now is special animation for Reemus and Liam and the title screens. Then I hand it off to Steve to make it work.

Reemus Chapter 4 – First Look

So the last few days I’ve been hard at work doing production art for Reemus Chp.4. I’ve completed 10 of the 17 unique backgrounds featured in the game as well as a chunk of character animation. I’m happy to say it’s going quite smoothly!

Chapter 4 is the first Reemus game where I’ve written the entire game in advance. Usually I do a few puzzles and then dive into production and make the rest up as I go. As you’ve seen from past games that can result in some uneven puzzles and annoyances.

I’m happy to say that Chapter 4 should be free from all minor quibbles of past games. I’m very excited to show everyone. So excited that I talked to Steve and we agreed, anyone who orders The Ballads of Reemus will get to play this game as soon as it’s done. Not sometime in the summer when Ballads is released, but the minute its ready to be played. That will probably be a couple months before the rest of the internet.

The Several Journeys of Reemus Chapter 4

Reemus encounters some nasty hornets during his travels

Why? Well my reason is two fold. One, to give you something to play while you wait for Ballads to arrive and as a thank you for your early support of my first paid adventure game. It’s a bold step into the unknown and I really appreciate all your kind words and support! Two, I want your feedback on the puzzles and some of the new design choices. Those that have already pre-ordered I consider hardcore fans, so there’s no better people to ask about what should stay and what should go.

Your feedback will have a big impact on some of my ideas for The Ballads of Reemus. I look forward to growing with you!

That’s your small taste for now.  For those that are subscribed to my newsletter, look for more screen shots arriving in your inbox soon!
